I completed my Masters in Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage & Family Therapy at the University of Kentucky and currently hold professional licenses as an independent mental health practitioner and a licensed marriage and family therapist in the State of Nebraska. As a marriage and family therapist, I specialize in treating mental and emotional disorders within the context of marriage and family systems. I work within a strengths-based treatment modality with children, adolescents, and their families. I believe that every family member has strengths that will enable them to overcome difficulties and have lasting positive change in their lives.

I work with couples who have difficulty communicating through conflict, are emotionally disengaged from each other, or have experienced infidelity in their relationship. I encourage couples to look at what they contribute to the dynamic of conflict and work on making lasting change in those areas. I believe we all have emotional needs and that when they are unmet by our partner we become unhappy with the relationship. Recognizing a person’s emotional needs and how that affects a relationship is important to developing a strong and healthy relationship.

I am a trained facilitator in Parenting the Love and Logic Way™ (www.loveandlogic.com) parenting classes. Love and Logic™ is a philosophy of raising and teaching children which allows adults to be happier, empowered, and more skilled in their interactions with children. Love allows children to grow through their mistakes.

I am a coach and child specialist for Nebraska Collaborative Divorce (www.collaborativedivorcene.com). Collaborative Divorce provides a respectful approach to separating and divorcing clients to work toward restructuring their family unit and resolving their legal, financial, and emotional issues.

I am a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (www.aamft.org).
