I have extensive history seeing adolescents with behavioral disorders. I work with the adolescent and parent on improving their communication and helping to provide realistic expectations in the home. I see adults and adolescents with mild to severe mental health disorders and believe in a strengths-based approach. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and have found success in using this to treat people who have a history of trauma and/or anxiety disorders. I believe it is important to find the right fit when looking for a therapist, so I am willing to answer any questions over the phone before a client schedules their first appointment.
Kersten Borer, M.S.W.
I completed my Masters in Social Work in 1999 at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and currently hold professional licenses as an independent mental health practitioner, master’s level social worker and an alcohol and drug counselor in the State of Nebraska. I provide outpatient substance abuse treatment (ASAM Level I) to adolescents and adults. I also offer urinalysis drug and alcohol testing. I am on the approved provider list to complete chemical dependency evaluations in the State of Nebraska. I also see many friends and family members of persons with addictions. Many people want guidance of how to help those with addictions as well as how to take care of themselves in the process. Therefore I see many couples, where one partner has a history of addiction.
